911 Responders Remembered Haydn Missa Brevis

Voyces will sing Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo by Joseph Haydn as part of a Solemn Mass commemorating the sacrifice of first responders on the occasion of the fifteenth anniversary of 9/11. Also music by Purcell, Tallis and Franck.

New York Polyphony

5 Boroughs Music Festival and Voyces co-present the twice GRAMMY-nominated male vocal quartet New York Polyphony. Praised by The New Yorker as "singers of superb musicianship and vocal allure" New York Polyphony will bring a program featuring works by Loyset Compere (1445-1518), Francisco de Peñalosa (1470-1528), and Cyrillus Kreek (1889-1962). Voyces will join with NYP to perform Amid a Crowd of Stars by Andrew Smith (b. 1970).

Welcome to the mystery and grandeur of Lessons and Carols at St. Paul's Memorial Church. This season Voyces and Young Voyces will illuminate the traditional nine lessons with music by German and Bohemian composers of the late Renaissance and early Baroque. Featuring music by Hassler, Scheidt, Hammerschmidt, Praetorius, and Jacob Handl.

MadriGala 2017

Back by popular demand! Enjoy a glass of wine while listening to three courses of madrigals and motets, with a dish of musical satire for dessert. Voyces MadriGala 2017, often profound and a wee bit profane, is guaranteed to lift you out of February's doldrums. Great idea for date night!

All Generations: 3 Magnificats

All Generations: 3 Magnificats

All generations shall call me blessed. The Canticle of Mary has been set to music by the world's greatest composers. On this special concert Voyces will perform three immortal interpretations: Magnificat by Arvo Pärt, Magnificat a 6 voci from Vespro delle Beata Virgine (1610 Vespers) by Claudio Monteverdi, and Bach's Magnificat in D, BWV 243. Voyces and Young Voyces will be joined by an orchestra of Baroque specialists.
From ethereal and timeless to monumental, hear Mary's Song as it was sung throughout " all generations".

An opera by Henry Purcell

One of the earliest English operas, Dido and Aeneas, premiered in 1688, tells the story of the love of the Queen of Carthage for the Trojan hero Aeneas. Culminating with one of the most beloved arias ever written, "Dido's Lament", Voyces presents the opera in concert form with an orchestra of Baroque specialists. Voyces will be joined by Young Voyces and guest soloists mezzo-soprano Hai-Ting Chinn and baritone Jesse Blumberg for this singular musical event.

O Great Mystery: A Renaissance Christmas
From Renaissance England, Germany and Italy, Voyces presents a concert of carols juxtaposed with sacred motets and chorales. From the Fall of Adam and Eve through the Annunciation, the Nativity, the arrival of the Three Magi and the slaughter of the Innocents, the music moves through the Christmas story as told by such composers as Victoria, Gabrieli, Praetorius, Jakob Handl, Ravenscroft and Deering. The Underworld Project
Descend with Voyces from Terra Firma to the Underworld with the music of Claudio Monteverdi. Cryes of London: Loves, Lives and Laments of England
A concert of sacred and secular vocal works of late Renaissance and Baroque England. The event will showcase music by Tallis, Thomas Tomkins, Gibbons and Purcell and culminate in excerpts from Henry Purcell's semi-opera King Arthur with guest countertenor Alan Dornak.
